The Art of Ritual

Intention, Sankalpa and Sacred Practice6 May | 11:15am – 12:30pm Ritual offers a way to bring intention into form: a bridge between what we hold inwardly and how we choose to move through the world. In this workshop we will explore how the yogic framework of the Purusharthas can help illuminate what truly matters in our lives, and how intention can guide the direction of our path. From this foundation we will work with the practice of Sankalpa, learning how to cultivate intentions that are meaningful, aligned, and supportive of our deeper values. Through reflection, journaling and simple ritual practices, you will be guided to clarify your own intentions and explore how ritual can become a grounding and supportive practice in daily life. This session includes exploration of the Purusharthas, guided reflection, journaling, mediation, yoga nidra and the creation of a personal ritual practice.

The Art of Connection

A playful and supportive exploration of yoga through shared movement and connection. Partner yoga invites us to experience familiar postures in a new way, using communication, balance and trust to deepen our practice. Working together allows us to explore greater stability, openness and awareness within the body. During this workshop we will explore a series of accessible partner-based postures, gentle assists, and collaborative movements that help cultivate both strength and ease in practice. You will learn how to safely support and receive support from another person, offering a new perspective on alignment, balance and connection. No partner is required. If you attend on your own, you will be paired with another participant during the workshop. This session will also include simple hands-on assists to help deepen certain postures and create a sense of shared support within the practice.

The Intelligence of Sun Salutations

Alignment, Transitions & Drishti Sun Salutations are one of the most familiar sequences in yoga practice, yet they are often repeated without fully understanding the intelligence within their structure. In this workshop we slow the sequence down and explore the mechanics that support both stability and fluidity within Surya Namaskar A and B. Rather than simply moving through the sequence, we will examine how each posture connects to the next and how small refinements in alignment and attention can significantly change the experience of the practice. Throughout the session we will explore: • alignment principles within each posture of Sun Salutations A & B • how transitions create efficiency and flow between movements • the role of drishti in cultivating focus and directional awareness • beginner through to more advanced variations of the sequence • intelligent modifications to support different bodies and abilities • how to incorporate props to assist stability, mobility and accessibility By understanding the underlying structure of Sun Salutations, practitioners can move with greater awareness, safety and efficiency while maintaining the fluid rhythm of the sequence. This workshop is suitable for practitioners who would like to deepen their understanding of a foundational sequence as well as teachers wishing to refine their knowledge of alignment and modifications.

Early Bird - Mastery of Alignment & Hands on Assists,(ONLINE COURSE INCLUDED Valued at $600)

$895.00 AUD

A 30hr professional development immersion exploring the intelligence of posture, skilled assisting and the subtle art of teaching through touch.

Mastery of Alignment is one of Laura’s signature areas of teaching and is designed to help teachers and dedicated practitioners refine their understanding of how yoga postures truly function within the body.

Rather than simply learning shapes, this training explores how alignment, energetic integrity and neuromuscular awareness work together to create both stability and freedom within the practice.

Through hands-on learning and detailed posture breakdowns, participants will explore how skilful assisting can help students access postures more safely while remapping neuromuscular patterns and creating new pathways of movement and awareness.

Laura’s approach to assisting begins with integrity in your own body and being. By cultivating presence and deep listening, teachers develop the ability to recognise what a student’s body is communicating and offer guidance that supports both structure and ease.

Across this training we will explore more than 80 yoga postures, examining how alignment principles evolve across different categories of movement and how hands-on assists can support both accessibility and refinement.

What You Will Learn

• alignment principles across a wide range of postures
• how to recognise common compensation patterns in the body
• body-reading skills to identify misalignments
• safe and effective hands-on assisting techniques
• how to refine posture through subtle adjustments rather than force
• intelligent use of props to support accessibility and progression
• understanding energetic loops, spirals and structural integrity
• cultivating the ability to “listen” to the body through touch

This process allows teachers to guide students toward experiences that may previously have felt inaccessible while maintaining safety and respect for individual anatomy.
